Mindfulness Activities - Spring Themed
Description
These spring themed mindfulness resources will help your students to learn about what mindfulness is and how they can practice it. Activities use mindfulness techniques such as guided imagery, thorough reflection, awareness of thoughts and feelings, close observation and deep breathing. The activities are great for individual, small group or classroom lessons!

What's Included:

Mindful Breathing Posters These 3 posters will help students learn deep
breathing strategies using the imagery of a flower and a leaf. -
Mindful Kite Craftivity This craftivity includes a kite template which includes
prompts related to mindfulness. Students will respond to the prompts and then
cut out their kites and attach them to string or yarn. Students will then choose
from the 6 mindful mantra bows included, and attach the bows to the string.
Kites can be colored or printed on colored paper. -
Mindful Word Association Accordion Books This includes accordion books for
6 different spring words. Students will read the words and then record the
feelings and thoughts they experience when thinking about these words. The
accordion books can be attached to an interactive notebook. -
My Favorite Spring Memory Flap Book Students will use prompts on a flap
book to reflect deeply on their favorite spring memory. Students will be
encouraged to recall as much about the memory as they can. There is also a
section for students to draw a picture of their favorite memory. The flap book
and picture page can be attached to an interactive notebook. -
Nature Walk This activity includes the directions for a nature walk and cloud
observation activity. Students can use the two recording sheets provided to
record what they observe about their surroundings. -
Spring Mindfulness Cards Includes 12 spring themed activity cards to help
students practice mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, guided
imagery and careful observation. -
What I Would Notice Includes 2 worksheets to help students use their five
senses to describe various spring experiences. Once students complete the
worksheets, they can be used as part of a guessing game. -
Mindfulness Flower Craftivity A template for a flower and stem that include
mindfulness prompts. Students will consider what mindfulness is and how they
can practice it. The flower can be colored in or printed on colored paper. -
Additional Mindfulness Activities Includes the directions for 6 additional ways
to practice mindfulness with your students. Each activity plan includes
discussion questions to help guide the activity.
